Born in Washington, DC and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Shana earned two degrees from the illustrious Howard University: a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology. Shana then went on to obtain a Juris Doctorate from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law. During law school, Shana interned at Black Entertainment Television (BET) in the Legal Affairs department. After graduating, she began her career working as an associate entertainment attorney at the Law Offices of Lita Rosario Esq. While there, Shana negotiated and drafted recording contracts, licensing deals and production deals for top music industry artists. Shana loves to entertain, travel the world to explore new cuisines, and bring all of her life experiences to her dining room table. She has mastered the art of putting love in food. Because of this, Shana is the designated chef and host of all her family and friends' gatherings. When she’s not entertaining, Shana currently works as a contract attorney on corporate litigation matters in Washington, DC, and serves on the board of Bridges Beyond 17 Giving Circle (BB17). BB17 specifically works to benefit young ladies of African-American descent in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and was founded by Eshauna Smith.
